Guideline and Submission Information
Accepted manuscripts will be published in J. JSCE, Vol. 13 in 2025. From 2024,
- The first review until 2023 has been changed to the "paper presentation review" to determine whether the manuscript is acceptable for presentation at the conference.
- The second review until 2023 has been changed to the "J-STAGE paper review" using the Editorial Manager.
- No extended abstract (EA) is needed for the final submission. The abstracts submitted to the paper presentation review will be distributed instead of EAs.

Paper Presentation Review †
- For "paper presentation review", we will accept the information of the corresponding author, title, author(s), speaker(s), abstract, Paper Categories, etc. via Google Forms.
- Google Forms: Please enter from "For Authors" in the left column.
- After filling out the Google Forms, you will automatically receive an e-mail from noreply.kaigan(at)gmail.com with the title of "【2025特集号(海岸工学)論文ID通知メール". Please make sure that you can receive the email from Gmail.
- The paper ID beginning with "P" are required for "J-STAGE paper review". Please save the paper ID notification email.
- The paper ID notification email will be sent only when you register for the first time. It will not be sent when you update your submission.
- You can update your submission from the URL provided in the paper ID notification email.
- In principle, changes to the title of the paper are not permitted after the deadline, except in special cases such as when reviewers have commented on the title of the paper.
- In principle, changes to the authors and their order are not permitted after the deadline.
- The abstract should be no more than 350 words in Japanese and 300 words in English, as in J-STAGE papers. Figures, tables, photographs, and mathematical expressions cannot be included.
- The abstract should not be written as ordinary descriptions but instead an effort should be made to relate the specifics of key points obtained in the research.
- No extended abstract has been needed from 2024, and instead the abstract will be distributed at the conference.
- If the first author is a candidate for the Coastal Engineering Paper Award, please provide the date of birth of the first author. If you are eligible, please check for reviewers (in Japanese).
- If you want to withdraw your submission before the deadline, please write "Withdraw" in the title and abstract fields from the URL provided in the paper ID notification email and send an email to noreply.kaigan(at)gmail.com.

J-STAGE Paper Review †
Submission †
- Please read "Author Manual" for the Editorial Manager on the website above.
- Please note the following points when submitting your manuscript.
- Once you have clicked "Approve Submission" to complete the submission process, you cannot modify the paper information or update the manuscript.
- If you resubmit your paper for modification or update, it will be considered as a double submission and the publication fee may be doubled.
- When entering the "Title", please make sure to add a paper ID starting with P (e.g., P0001) prior to the title of the paper.
- Submissions without a paper ID beginning with "P" will not be accepted.
- In principle, changes to the title of the paper are not permitted except in special cases such as when reviewers have commented on the title of the paper. Please make sure that the title in the manuscript is the same as the title registered at the "paper presentation review".
- Please select "Special Issue (Academic Paper)" for "Article Type".
- Please select "17. Special Issue (Coastal Engineering)" for "Section/Category".
- Please enter the abstract as it appears in the manuscript in the "Abstract" fields.
- It is preferable that the abstract be exactly the same as that in the abstract at the time of the "paper presentation review", but slight modifications are acceptable. However, if the abstract is judged to be significantly different from the abstract at the time of the "paper presentation review", the manuscript will be returned.
- Please enter the exact same author(s) and in the exact same author order in the "Author Information" section.
- In principle, changes to the authors and their order are not permitted.
Paper Format †
Review results †
- The manuscript is accepted without revisions or with minor revisions. Prepare for the final manuscript. Check reviewers' suggestions of minor revisions and, if necessary, revise your manuscript accordingly. Upload your final manuscript from the Editorial Manager.
- The manuscript is conditionally accepted with appropriate revisions. The final manuscript must be revised accordingly responding to reviewers' comments. Upload the revised manuscript and a report for reviewers which describes how you responded to reviewers' comments from the Editorial Manager.
- Results of the 2nd review will be sent to the corresponding author by e-mail. If the modified manuscript is judged as A, prepare for the final manuscript. Check reviewers' comments and modify your manuscript accordingly. Upload your final manuscript from the Editorial Manager.
- The manuscript was unfortunately declined. You need to give your presentation at the conference.
